Happy Holidays!  We hope that you and yours are well, happy, and enjoying some time together as the year closes.

Hard to believe another year has gone by, and what a year it was! We are fortunate to still be traveling and seeing so many wonderful sites. Full-time RV'ing is a full-time job, and Julie keeps up with the planning and executing the itinerary like a pro. This year's travels include (and its hardly a complete list!):

We started the year in Florida.  We chose Florida for its mild winters, and man, were we disappointed!  According to those that stay there every winter, it was the windiest, coldest, and wettest winter.  Not the warm days we expected but still warmer than most of the country.  It was still quite enjoyable with visits Disneyworld, Key West and all three of the Florida National Parks, with plenty of alligators and American Crocodiles to go around.

During the spring we worked our way through the Southeast, enjoying Savannah, Charleston, Charlotte, Asheville just to name a few spots. Before heading north through Kentucky and Mammoth Cave National Park.

We spent most of the summer in Canada. Starting in Winnipeg, we headed east toward Toronto, touring the North Shore of Lake Superior. It was absolutely beautiful, with spectacular vistas of the lake through forested valleys and peaks. After leaving Toronto we came back across the US border and spent a few days exploring the Niagara Falls area.  The falls are truly one of the wonders of the world, with the awe-inspiring beauty and shear power of Mother Nature.  We also visited the power station museum and explored one of the massive water tunnels.

In July and August, we took a tour with Fantasy RV covering the Eastern and Maritime Provinces of Canada (Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland). Their marketing promises an abundance of inspiring vistas, historic lighthouses, and regional sites and it did not disappoint. It was simply wonderful.  It was a group tour; except we drove our RV to various locations instead of staying hotels.  The highlight was Newfoundland (gorgeous!) with two ferries, one overnight; and the stopover in Gander, made famous by the events of 9/11.  The people were friendly, kind, and hilarious.

Returning to the U.S., we traveled through the (early) fall colors of New England.  We started in Maine at Acadia National Park.  Arriving during Labor Day Vacation, the park was packed, but we managed to thoroughly enjoy it, including several beautiful hikes. We had a great visit in Boston and continued through all the (tiny) states along the way. Continuing south, we enjoyed Shenandoah National Park but we found the best fall colors at New River Gorge National Park in West Virginia.  There we walked the catwalk under the New River Gorge Bridge, some 850 feet above the river. The views were breathtaking.

We ended 2024 back in the Woodlands, where we took care of year-end doctor's visits, caught up with friends, prepped the RV for storage, and planned our next big adventure:  Hawaii, American Samoa, Samoa, New Zealand, Fiji and Australia!  Yes, we are doing a possibly once-in-a-lifetime journey down under.  More on that adventure to follow!

Speaking of following, you can find info on us through Julie's  Facebook page (narrative and some pictures) and   our website (for all our pictures and interactive route maps). Well, that's all for now.  Have a wonderful holiday and a fantastic new year!
